Minimalist Reviews, as mentioned in my announcement post focuses on recapping my most recent reviews in a digestable chunk of minimalism. Summing each film up with a memorable quote and/or an incisive description that sums up my views. Find also a link to the main review, and I hope you enjoy the ‘art’.
Total Recall ll “You are not you. You are me.”
Network ll Sublime.
The Warriors ll Absurd cultural gorn.
John Wick ll Slick debut inspires Reeves to killer performance.
Minimalism rules, James!! Very cool drawings :-)

If you’ve seen the films then they offer something special that only the viewer really understands, the John Wick sledge hammer for example

From your list I’ve only seen Total Recall. Haven’t had the pleasure of checking the others yet, but I really really love Total Recall. It’s odd, but it’s totally a childhood film for me :-)

It’s one of my favourite sci-fi films, plus it has Arnold Schwarzenegger in it! What more could one want

Didn’t you forget Sharon Stone, I mean, still…
I love the make-up they did on everyone there. The triple nipples woman? amazing!

Ah well how could I forget! I’m pretty sure it won the award for best special effects hands down, largely in part because they spent so much money on it there was no other film that could viably compete

So true! This film was ground breaking at the time and I do believe it won an award. It had to!!! Hmmm… I feel like watching it now!

Obviously I’d recommend you watch all of these films but if I had to choose one to go alongside Total Recall it would have to be The Warriors for its similar camp stylr

Is it a gang movie from the 80’s? Probably in NY… I think I’ll like it! Thanks for recommending ☺

Yeah that’s the one, it’s pretty wacky, definitely a cult classic

I like the minimalist approach (and your art)! My favorite quote from Total Recall will always be: ” Consider that a divorce”. Great Arnie’s one-liner!

Haha art is a strong word but I appreciate your kind words :) I still love, “You call this a delusion?” Oh and Sharon Stone’s line, “I’m sorry Quaid. You whole life is just a dream.”
