Who doesn’t enjoy a good magic trick? Cynical know-it-alls is who but this film isn’t for them anyway so away with you already.

The Klaxons were so close. Their first studio album ‘Myths of the Near Future’ could not have predicted the arrival of the ‘Four Horsemen of 2012’ any better. Well, they could have got the year right but you get my point.

Although the ‘Four Horseman of 2012’ actually turned into 2013 with Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco completing the quartet the Klaxons couldn’t predict everything. Three years later the Four Horsemen will return for Now You See Me 2. An original title if ever I saw one, surely they could have gone with …Now You Don’t or something a little more memorable, but alas, we wouldn’t want to put too much pressure on the creativity of Hollywood.

School boy pop culture references and Hollywood rants aside you have come here to read about the new trailer, what to expect and how to prepare for more befuddlement courtesy of the “noble Robin Hoods.”

Well I can tell you things continue where they left off. With the Four Horsemen upping the ante and defying all logic, all sense of possibility and all boundaries of reality the sequel actually looks better than the first. But we all know that trailers can be deceiving and if ever there was a film trailer to deceive it’s audience it should be this one.

No doubt the tricks look amazing: weather control, sleight of hand, disappearing acts and what not, but will the plot match the bravado of such a strong reinstatement of the Four Horsemen in this short one minute teaser?

If I’m honest this trailer has made me want to revisit Now You See Me to make sure I didn’t miss a trick, sorry. But I’m still a little wary of how they handle this second outing. Handled wrong it could end up a disaster that no sleight of hand or disappearance will solve.

Mark Ruffalo returns alongside Michael Caine. Lizzy Caplan enters the fray, magic doves an’ all, while Daniel Radcliffe finds the lure of magic too strong to resist. Swapping his wand for card tricks let’s just hope he doesn’t bang on about his scar all the time.
